Artist's Description
One day I was feeding the cat, when I saw something in the tree, Always with my camera around my neck, I got a shot of this wonderful Mississippi Kite This bird is a small bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. It is 12 to 15 inches beak to tail and has a wingspan averaging 3 feet. Weight is from 214 to 388 grams. It eats small animals such as mice, rats, lizards, and small birds ... unfortunately. While this bird stayed around my house, all the song birds left. Slowly the song birds are coming back, now that I haven't seen the Kite
About Shannon Story
FAA WATERMARK WILL NOT PRINT ON PURCHASED ARTWORK. Visit my galleries if you don't want to wade through all my pages of artwork. I was five years old when I took my first photograph ... of my mom, dad and our dog (see the photo "Shutter Bug"). I've loved photography ever since. I won my first photo contest while in college and have had my photography in national, regional and local publications. I have had many of my weather photos shown on local television stations. Beginning in July of 2002 when I got my first digital camera; (a Kodak, then later a Olympus, now a Canon), I have taken a photo each day to put in my Photo Journal. I didn't think there would be much of interest EVERY day ... but God proves me WRONG. Each day...
