Thanks Vicki and Christopher! It was amazing to see. It went all across the sky, from west to east. Like a zipper.

Thanks, Marvin. Was lucky I got the shot. Just happened to walk by the kitchen window to go back to bed, but saw part of it through the window.

Artist's Description

Even though I was sick as a dog I went out in the freezing cold one morning when I saw this cloud formation out the kitchen window. I email it to a meteorologist, who said.... "It's a kind of 'negative' contrail. Apparently the jet exhaust caused the cirrus cloud layer to condense and fall out as snow, leaving a gap in the clouds. I don't think I've ever seen one like it."

I won my first photo contest while in college and have had my photography in national, regional and local publications. I have had many of my weather photos shown on local television stations. Beginning in July of 2002 when I got my first digital camera; (a Kodak, then later a Olympus, now a Canon), I have taken a photo each day to put in my Photo Journal. I didn't think there would be much of interest EVERY day ... but God proves me WRONG. Each day...
